COMMON DECLARATION

We the young people of Cyprus, Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, jointly declare that in this unique historical conjuncture a “YES” vote on the April 24 referenda safeguards:

1. The reunification of the island within the framework of a bi-communal bi-zonal federation and ensures the constructive rapprochement of the two communities.

2.  The enhancement of the future prospects of the younger generation within the European framework.

3. Social dynamism of the young people, liberating forces of creativity and vision.

A “NO” vote will articulate the interest of reactionary forces which inevitably will concretize not only the existing division but will raise additional psychological barriers between the two communities to the detrained of social and political stability on the island.

We finally declare that the ultimate guarantee for a peaceful and lasting settlement lies with our determined will for a common participation in shaping our common future.
